To recognize a family-owned enterprise either listed or unlisted, that has achieved all-round excellence in growth, leadership, and continuity across generations. It celebrates businesses that have scaled up while upholding strong family values, governance standards, and long-term vision. The award highlights organizations that combine revenue and profit growth with innovation, professional management and structured succession planning, demonstrating resilience, stability, and sustained leadership over time.

The annual turnover of the company must be between INR 10,000 Crores to INR 40,000 crores as on March 31, 2025

Family Business of The Year - Large

To recognize a family-owned enterprise either listed or unlisted, that has achieved all-round excellence in growth, leadership, and continuity across generations. It celebrates businesses that have scaled up while upholding strong family values, governance standards, and long-term vision. The award highlights organizations that combine revenue and profit growth with innovation, professional management and structured succession planning, demonstrating resilience, stability, and sustained leadership over time.

The annual turnover of the company must be between INR 5,000 Crores to INR 10,000 crores as on March 31, 2025

Family Business of The Year - Emerging Titans

To recognize a family-owned enterprise either listed or unlisted, that has achieved all-round excellence in growth, leadership, and continuity across generations. It celebrates businesses that have scaled up while upholding strong family values, governance standards, and long-term vision. The award highlights organizations that combine revenue and profit growth with innovation, professional management and structured succession planning, demonstrating resilience, stability, and sustained leadership over time.

The annual turnover of the company must be between INR 2,000 Crores to INR 5,000 crores as on March 31, 2025

Excellence in Investor Value Creation

To recognize companies that have generated exceptional value for their shareholders over a period of three consecutive financial years (2022-23; 2023-24; 2024-25). It recognizes organizations who have demonstrated strong business performance supporting the rise in share price, reflectng strong business fundamentals, strategic execution, and investor confidence. The award is based primarily on stock price appreciation, signalling consistent wealth creation and market leadership.

The company must be a publicly listed company in India.

Turnaround Triumph

To recognize a family business that has successfully navigated adversity and achieved a strong, sustainable turnaround. It honours organizations that have rebuilt momentum through a bold pivot, restructuring, or strategic reinvention, resulting in renewed growth, profitability, and operational stability. The award highlights businesses whose transformation stories go beyond a single financial year and reflects consistent improvement, resilience, and long-term value creation.

The turnaround point of the company (pivot, restructuring, strategic shift) must have occurred within the last five to seven years

NextGen Business Leader (Male)

To recognize a next-generation scion of a family business who is actively shaping the future of the enterprise. It honours young leaders who are taking on meaningful executive responsibilities, driving key initiatives such as diversification, strategic shifts, geographic expansion, or innovation, and demonstrating vision, leadership, and potential to transform the family enterprise for a next-generation.

- The nominee must be a next-generation leader (not the founder) of the family business organization

- The nominee must hold an executive role in the family business (not necessarily CXO, but decision making authority is required)

NextGen Business Leader (Female)

To recognize a next-generation scion of a family business who is actively shaping the future of the enterprise. It honours young leaders who are taking on meaningful executive responsibilities, driving key initiatives such as diversification, strategic shifts, geographic expansion, or innovation, and demonstrating vision, leadership, and potential to transform the family enterprise for a next-generation.

- The nominee must be a next-generation leader (not the founder) of the family business organization

- The nominee must hold an executive role in the family business (not necessarily CXO, but decision making authority is required)

Sustainability Champion

To recognize a family business that has effectively embedded environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into its long-term strategy and demonstrate measurable sustainable impact through initiatives that benefit the environment, society, and business governance, while aligning with the company's strategic objectives. The award highlights enterprises that integrate sustainability into decision making, operations, and culture, creating value for both the business and the broader community.

The nominee must have at least one ESG project or initiative implemented in the last three years as on January 23, 2026

Make in India Champion

To recognize family businesses that embody the spirit of the Make in India initiative by promoting manufacturing excellence, innovation, and self-reliance within India. It recognizes companies that have significantly contributed to strengthening India's manufacturing ecosystem, boosting domestic production, and fostering sustainable economic development. The focus should be on demonstrable growth in domestic manufacturing capabilities, contribution to import substitution and export promotion, innovation in manufacturing processes and product design, adoption of quality and productivity enhancement practices, commitment to “Make in India” values and vision.

Excellence in Employment Generation

To recognize a family business that has demonstrated commitment to job creation and workforce development by generating significant employment opportunities, invested in skill development, and strengthened human capital, contributing to economic growth and societal well-being. The award celebrates businesses that combine growth with responsible employment practices and talent development.

Philanthropic Leadership

To recognize and honor a family-owned company that has demonstrated outstanding philanthropic commitment and social investment, driving meaningful and measurable impact in society. It celebrates organizations that exemplify compassion, social responsibility, and leadership through sustained charitable initiatives, corporate foundations, or social enterprises.

Excellence in Digital Transformation

To recognize family businesses that have successfully embraced digital technologies and leveraged them to transform operations, customer experience, or business models. It recognizes enterprises that use technology to enhance efficiency, innovate processes, enable data-driven decision-making, or expand digital reach, thereby driving growth and future-readiness. The focus should be on effective integration of digital tools and platforms (e.g., AI, automation, cloud computing), measurable improvements in operational efficiency or customer engagement, innovative use of technology to create new revenue streams or markets, leadership in fostering a digital culture within the family business

Export Champion

To recognize a family business that has significantly contributed to India's foreign exchange earnings through large-scale manufacturing and exports. It honours organizations that demonstrate strategic vision, operational excellence, and global competitiveness, driving revenue growth and profitability while expanding India's presence in international markets. The award highlights leadership in export performance, market expansion, and value creation for the economy.

The application form can only be submitted in English Language.

Participants may apply to multiple categories, provided the initiative and organization meet the eligibility criteria and category requirements. After logging in, you can select multiple categories from the dashboard and submit separate forms for each category.

Organization:

  • The participating company must be a family-owned enterprise where family members hold significant ownership/control.
  • The company should meet at least two of the following criteria:

    • Family is the majority owner, or the single largest non-institutional shareholder.
    • Family controls the board with majority/ 50% of directors’ family nominated.
    • Family member runs the company as CEO/ MD.
  • The participating company must have its operational presence in India for at least 5 years as on January 23, 2026.
  • The Company Must have reported its annual turnover between INR 2,000 Crores to INR 40,000 Crores and net profits for at least 3 consecutive financial years as on March 31, 2025 (2022-23; 2023-24; 2024-25)

Individual:

  • For NextGen Business Leader category, the nominee the nominee must be a next-generation member of the family business i.e. Second-generation leaders, Third-generation leaders (and beyond) who are actively involved in leading, transforming, or significantly contributing to the family business.
  • Founders or first-generation entrepreneurs are not eligible to apply, as the intent is to recognize emerging and successor leaders who carry forward the family legacy while driving innovation, growth, and strategic evolution.
  • The participating individual must be 18 years of age or older as on January 23, 2026.

  • Candidates can apply for the award by completing the application form online.

  • Application steps:

    • Register on https://etfamilybusinessawards.com/register to create your login account
    • Log in using your credentials to access the dashboard
    • Select the category or categories you wish to apply for on the dashboard
    • A separate application form will open for each selected category; complete and submit each form individually

Your application form will first be reviewed for completeness, eligibility and adherence to the application guidelines. Incomplete and ineligible applications will be declined without further review. Applications that meet eligibility criteria will be further considered for the jury evaluation rounds.

There is no application fee associated with the Award.

Application form must be filled in English only.

The application form needs to be complete in all respects.

Disqualification of entries is at the sole discretion of jury, on a case-by-case basis. The said disqualification will be as per the Terms and Conditions defined for the awards.

If at any time, any information provided by an applicant is found to be incorrect in any manner, then the applicant will be disqualified from the awards.

If after the conclusion of the awards ceremony, any information provided by any applicant is found to be incorrect in any manner, then the applicant will be liable to return the award/ award money provided to the applicant under these awards.

Determination of whether information provided by the applicant is incorrect or not is at jury’s discretion.

The jury has the right to ask for documentary proof of information provided/ audit the information provided. If such a request is made and the applicant does not comply within 3 days from the date the request is made, the applicant would be disqualified from the awards.

Once the application form is submitted, you will not be allowed to make changes.

No, the application must be filled and submitted online. However, we have a “Save as Draft” option that will enable you to fill the application form at your pace and submit post completion.

The last date for receiving completed application forms is January 23, 2026.

There could be one or more winners for each category at the discretion of the jury members appointed by the awards management.
